By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations of Kiribati. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services

2.1 Reservations
All reservations are subject to availability. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful booking.

2.2 Payment

  • A 40% deposit of the total booking cost is required to secure your reservation.

  • The remaining of the payment must be paid at least 30 days before your scheduled arrival. If the payment is not completed by then, the booking will automatically be cancelled. 

  • Payment can be made via approved payment methods advised by our representatives or agents.

2.3 Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Due to the limited availability of spots, all bookings are non-refundable in the event of a guest-initiated cancellation. Guests acknowledge and accept this policy at the time of booking.

3.1 Flights and Local Airfare
The package you purchase includes round-trip local airfare between Kiritimati Island and Fanning Island, as well as two nights' accommodation in a local room or home stay depending on what´s available on Kiritimati island, if an overnight transit prior to your flight to Fanning Island or prior to your international flight out of Kiritimati Island becomes necessary. Please note that Fanning Huts is not liable for any delays, cancellations, or changes to flight schedules caused by Air Fiji, Air Nauru or Air Kiribati. Any additional expenses incurred as a result of such delays, cancellations, or schedule changes by airlines servicing flights to and from Kiritimati Island are the sole responsibility of the traveler.

3.2 Transportation
Transportation will be provided from Kiritimati Island Airport to your overnight accommodation and back. Additionally, transportation will be arranged from Fanning Island’s airstrip to and from Fanning Huts.


3.3 Transportation for Fishing, Surfing, and Island Tours:

All trips and activities on Fanning Island, including fishing, surfing, and island tours, will be facilitated using boats. Cars, bicycles or motorbikes may also be provided, subject to availability and suitability for the activity.

4.1 Accommodations
We offer lodging in traditional huts designed to enable you to experience living like a local. Each hut is equipped with basic amenities enough to give you shelter and privacy while on the island.

4.2 Activities
Your stay may include activities such as surfing, fly fishing, deep-sea fishing, cooking with locals, and learning about traditional island life. Participation in these activities is voluntary and at your own risk.

5.1 Conduct
Guests are expected to respect local customs, traditions, and the environment. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit to participate in activities.

  • Please notify us of any dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical conditions in advance.

Food will primarily consist of local dishes available on the island, which includes seafood of various kinds, taro, breadfruit, and other starches. Some items may be brought in from outside the island, but availability is not guaranteed. Drinks provided will primarily include fresh young coconuts, boiled water, and, when possible, imported bottled water and beers (availability not guaranteed).

Please note that we can only provide what is available on the island and cannot guarantee that food or drinks will meet specific dietary requirements, such as being allergy-friendly or gluten-free and more. The food provided may contain dairy, gluten, or other allergens, and we do not make any assurances regarding the absence of such ingredients.

7. Liability and Disclaimers

7.1 Assumption of Risk
Guests participate in all activities at their own risk. While we take reasonable precautions to ensure your safety, we cannot guarantee a risk-free environment.

7.2 Limitation of Liability
Fanning Huts shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

7.3 Health and Emergency Situations

Fanning Huts is not responsible for any accidents, illnesses, or health-related issues that may arise during your stay or participation in activities. Guests are advised to secure their own health, travel, and accident insurance before their visit.

All guests are required to present a valid passport at check-in or, in certain cases, prior to arrival at the Lodge.

Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase Travel Disruption Insurance to protect against unforeseen events. This coverage can be arranged through Global Rescue (https://www.globalrescue.com/). Additionally, we highly recommend that guests secure Medical Evacuation Insurance from companies such as Global Rescue and others prior to their trip and bring a copy of their policy to the lodge. This ensures preparedness in the event of a medical emergency requiring evacuation.

Please note that obtaining appropriate insurance is the sole responsibility of the guest.

Guests will be held responsible for any damage caused to equipment, rental items, buildings, or other Lodge property that exceeds normal wear and tear. The cost of repair or replacement for damaged items will be charged to the guest. In cases where an item is lost, the guest will be charged the full replacement cost. By staying with us, guests agree not to dispute charges associated with damage, loss, or destruction of Lodge property.
